Old Varsovians must be so proud of their rebuilt capitol city.

The surrounding landscape looks a little cleaner and organized than it does now.

Looks like the landscaping around the Royal Castle is almost done.

Recognize what they're building?

It's ul. Marszałkowska - Ściana Wschodnia (Eastern Wall) in front of the Palace of Culture and Science.

Actually I think that's Krakowskie Przedmiescie near St. Anne's and Castle Square.

What Mruczek had in mind was that if you look at the right-hand side of the street, you'll see that there's no connection there to Miodowa street. In 1887 the houses located directly opposite St. Anne's church were torn down, creating this connection, which exists to this day:

This is probably one of the very few photographs in which these buildings can be seen. Interesting

EDIT: If we are to guess the date, then I would also say that the photo was taken post-1881, because that's when the first municipal tramway line was opened on Krakowskie Przedmiescie. True, before 1881, there had already been there a small tramway track built by the Russian Railways, but the network visible in the photograph is evidently much more developed than that. So my guess is 1881-1887. Anyone willing to take it further?

Some more pics from the Creativity Centre complex in Praga district. This development is a combination of restored historic buildings and a new building:

Sadly he was of Polish origin, but did not serve his country very well that's for sure.
