I love watching builders especially stone masons at work. I could just get some popcorn and watch for hours like watching a movie. It's amazing how they tackle these huge blocks of stone chipping away until beautiful and precise shapes are revealed.

Very nicely designed and proportioned mid-town infill unveiled:

Actually I like that one. That sign on the top looks atrocious cheap though ("Premium" or not), please tell me it is merely a temporary replacement for something else.

It’s hard to understand looking only at the static picture, but actually the ad is displaying on a rotating led screen, so it looks quite nice in real life

the sad thing was that the west side of Marszalkowska was almost entirely intact, so many exceptional buildings lost. But MDM is quite beautiful and unique as well defining a new urban square of sorts - Plac Konstytucji.

thanks kafarek

btw, the building to the right is actually a pre-war kamienica made to look modern post war and is now being redeveloped with an additional 2 floors as below:

it's being gradually restored as funds permit and a new building attached to it has been built at the rear and it is currently being fitted out.

Not sure if this has already appeared in this thread (I'm pretty sure it has, but still ). A photographic panorama of Warsaw from 1873:
