rychlik, you've really outdone yourself with this batch. all this hot weather is keeping you inside slaving over your computer? it's absolutely eerie looking at these pics, testament to what was, very sad too. The one with the makeshift pontoon bridge should grace a book cover some day. btw, the galeria luxembourg was right next to the surviving St. Anthony's of Padua church on Senatorska.

The heat's been pretty bad. Got the fan on. I was out the other night. I don't party two days in a row.

The Galeria Luxembourg looks quite interesting. I was thinking it's a design they should reconstruct somewhere in Warsaw.

The building on the left side reminds me the new tower that is built there right now.

very perceptive, that new building is very reminsicent of the tower to the left from some angles:

what was built there post war - nice but inappropriate to context:

Hey, you got a point. There is a bit of an inspiration there in the design. Perhaps more architects should do this.

you know that my uncle had an office in the corner building on the right up until the start of war, we still haven't been able to locate his whereabouts. Next year, I plan to sift through archives and records at cemetaries again, maybe we'll find something.

Saski Square from 1910.

Pretty nice structure but in the end it was out of place and not very Polish.
