They found some ancient stuff in the Wisla river. Anyone from Warsaw know more about this?

rychlik, the stuff in the Vistual is plunder from the Swedish invasion in 1600 something where they overloaded ships resulting in lots of booty (not like Beyonce ) falling overboard and sinking into the muck. archeologists have been pulling stuff up for a couple yrs now to put on display---see a few pages back for details.

some more archeological finds from the capsized plunder ship from 1650's. Water levels are the lowest in years, artifacts are coming to the surface as waters recede:

The treasure trove of artifacts retrieved from the Vistula bottom, now at its lowest level in 200 yrs, keeps growing. These are elements robbed by Swedes during the 1655 invasion and taken mostly from the grandest palaces. Given the size of what was retrieved so far, the question now is what to do with them. Displaying them in a gallery makes sense, the royal castle's arcades might be a good location. It will be a challenge to figure out where these elements came from as most documentation concerning the history of Warsaw's palaces was burned during the war. I think it would make for an amazing exhibition (Warsaw Found!) or depending on its size, a wing of the Warsaw Historical Museum:

The challenge they are going to have is that basically the loot they found is a disjointed, unorganized mess. If they can figure out a narrative through documenting where these elements came from, it'd make for a cool exhibition. Throw in some new media elements (like projections showing the original location of these items, for example) and it'd be pretty interesting.

I agree, the Royal Castle has room. From the tour I went on many years ago, there are still unfinished rooms. Put them in there.
