But the project is really advanced:Three decisions on constructions terms and conditions were issued and are still valid, the investment was agreed with the keeper of the monument and archeological investigations were made below the plots on which Saski was located . There is a resolution of the city council on the reconstruction of all aforementioned buildings in pre-war shape for the purpose of city offices. The problem is the money but recently a dynamic association emerged ("Saski 2018') and they claim to have a solution to pay the reconstruction. You should check this article on their webpage if you speak Polish:

Thanks a lot for the information and for the link. I don't speak Polish but I read the article via a translator.

The rebuilding of the Saski Palace would provide a wonderful centrepiece for the city in the same way that the rebuilding of the Berlin Royal Palace will do. I hope they make it a priority as it was a major loss for Warsaw and at the moment there is only a windswept square on the site flanked (from memory) by an ugly 1970's hotel to one side which ought to go in any scheme for rebuilding the Palace.

I understand that the original interior of the Krasinski Palace was restored. Would love to see that.

The Area around Plac Unii Lubelskiej suffered comparatively few losses during WWII, a lot of destruction was wrought by communists who placed out-of-scale, non-street-related buildings next to the capital's major roads. In the case of Plac Unii Lubelskiej this area is regaining a very intense urabn stature thanks to some brilliant infill projects that are nearing completion:

Before (lower image although upper image shows the post-war communist approach to urban planning - thanks MichalJ)

Note the long low pavilion in image below, this is where the new infill project below is being finished healing the urban fabric

Now:

some interwar modern in foreground

the infill encloses the broad urban street and terminates the axis although a little off-centre

Thank ring for pics.

Not sure but it would've been nice if they'd try to save it.

That is the pre-war national Philharmony in Warsaw. (Site of the international Chopin competition)

It was rebuild in the socialrealist style after WWII.

"Zniszczony: gmach spłonął we wrześniu 1939, ale mury zewnętrzne przetrwały wojnę w dosyć dobrym stanie.

Odbudowa: według projektu Eugeniusza Szparkowskiego i Henryka Białobrzeskiego przewidywała całkowitą zmianę wyglądu zewnętrznego budowli. Zniesiono eklektyczną fasadę, zastępując ją portykiem kolumnowym w duchu socrealizmu."
