Interesting film of Warsaw with lots of obvious commie propaganda interspliced, all those rosy-cheeked women and children bustling about while manly-men wield heavy hammers to build the Socialist Workers' Paradise. Enjoy

Warsaw 1965

Work on Warsaw's Prudential Tower soon to resume - work interrupted by subway construction and legal matters:

The original art deco modern building was designed by Marcin Weinfeld and he also designed the post war version. In 1936 Prof. Janusz Groszkowski built a large antenna on the roof that broadcasted Europe's first television signals.

I hope they can recapture that 1930's feel, especially when it's lit up at night.

Wilanow Palace has become a cool winter attraction (quite unique in Europe). Just note that place was not damaged in the war.

Probably looking for remains of 'krakowska gate' - dismalted in 1818 or royal stables.
During excavations(1977), they also found a pretty well preserved gothic bridge, which was partially reconstructed and exposed:

Spring has sprung in Poland, time for a few small updates, more later:

Mokotowska - nearing completion:

Another one will start in the near future, the last ruin near the prestigious Three Crosses Square:

Pre-war

thanks Piotrek00

This one coming soon too hopefully, also on Mokotowska

Now:

Pre-war

I look forward to the reconstruction of that 1930s tower, great on Warsaw for doing that.

I don't think there were really any serious plans about rebuilding the Rossija building. It would stick out like a sore thumb along this very modern frontage:

Pre-war:

Post war:

Next version:

Now: (NB - the first three floors, as indicated above, of the original front building still exist behind the new modern fašade as well as the original main staircase)

Looks like an old street car pass from the late 1930's.
