Here's another link which might be more fruitful, the digital Museum of Polish History library. Third article down specifically addresses how the pre-war inventory of specifically the old town was undertaken via photographs and scaled dimensioned drawings and which organized undertook this work. This is an exceptional scholarly work with lots of references, but only in Polish:

From what I recall the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was a stunning art deco annex to the Bruhl Palace. Would be nice if this could be rebuilt along with Palace.

Yep. It was replaced by a new building, but before that Supersam was destroyed in very suspicious circumstances. There were some rumours about reconstructing the building in a new area but actually nothing was done about that.
