^ a good point. I think the extenson only accounts for a smaller part of that amount.

Also not that I feel the need to argue this any further but the goverment dont fund pointless public transport schemes - getting funding for any infrstructure projects outside of london is like getting blood from a stone!

I know, I remember when I first posted that view back in like 2007 when the first building was being built and there was such excitement over how much the view would change. None of us expected what would happen.

The platforms don't seem very long, are there any plans to extend before the arrival of the new trams, or will the new trams be as short as the present ones?

Here is one of the first Midland Metro lines that was favoured .Powers were obtained but funding wasn't forthcoming .The dotted lines denote the tunnel sections in the city centre.

Interesting, but what is the point of running it along the collector road. Presumably this would have put people off given that it is on the periphery of an urban area.

Another one i was aware of was the running along Washwood Heath Road and Coleshill Road in Castle Bromwich.

Why What happened? St Paul's stop looks real lonely out there...

Exactly, maybe they need to do something with that station and surround area, hardly very welcoming is it.

Thanks for the link Nacho, probably one of the best videos of the Midland Metro on youtube. I particulary liked the secuence at 4:30 showing 05 arcing as it passed underneath the west coast main line... first time I've seen this happen along this tramway.
