Possibly so, or as was the case when I worked on motorways, there'd be a blaze of completion publicity one day, and a load of TM on the next as the job was finished...

I shouldn't knock 'em really....

Midland Metro to be Rebranded

  • by Edward Stephens, Birmingham Mail
  • Apr 1 2011

The Midland Metro is to be rebranded in 2015 to reflect the growing network and the new larger trams which will be operated on the network.

Geoff Inskip, chief executive of Centro, said that it was vitally important to rebrand the service to raise awareness of the increased size both of the network itself and the trams operating on it.

"We wanted to give The Metro a new name which not only recognises the increased size, but also reflects a strong midlands heritage which is why we've chosen the name "Midland Montego" for the service."

Rebranding work will start in 2012, and trams will be painted in beige.

What was wrong with The Metro? Everyone knows it?

One wonders if we are going through the 1980's repertoire of MG models.

Perhaps something like MIdland Swift if anything? At least you know what swift mean I.e quick.

Exactly my thoughts traffordboy.

April Fool! I laughed when I heard Midland Montego, and when they said the trams would be beige.....! Hmmmm! Lovely!

It's the best article the Mail has run in years.

Its not the fact that its an April Fools. Its the fact that it doesnt surprise anyone that it could have happened.

Didn't really read beyond the headline. That's my excuse.

Sorry chaps. Couldn't resist.

It's actually all my work & nothing at all to do with The Mail. I just made it look like a copy/paste job from The Mail to make it look more authentic.

Midland Montego trams in Austin Rover Beige. Mmmmmmmm!

Why do transport companies use such garish colours for their street furniture?
