The base is stunning and truly Gatsbyesque in both beauty and grandeur. The rest of the tower is very nice and the materials should make this a premier tower. The crown, however, is grotesque. It looks like a car garage. Where's the detail? Where's the proper proportion? A zigzag box is the crown? A high letdown and a mockery of true Art Deco gems imo. Fix that crown and this could be another wonder tower for Central Park.

Awesome. A bit more classic, but very tall and skinny again.

Finally a great design! Now that is something I'll be excited to see, unlike 432 Park Ave or, the worst ever, that Nordstrom thing.

I went to the Skyscraper Museum to see the "Superslim Exhibit".
It was pretty nice, and I snapped a few photos of the models they had.

Was that the model for 220 CPS?? It doesn't look like the rendering revealed yesterday. It's nice though... Maybe RAMSA can use that model for 45 East 60th.

Yes, it's 220 CPS.
It's possible the design changed...?

Hmmm...I'm not sure now that I think about it.
Maybe I confused it with something else.

there are similarities in the design, though the model at the museum is more ornate. It looks a lot more like something you would see being built 100 years ago.

That's not 220 CPS... the height is all wrong... unless it's dropped 20 floors
And look at the roads! The roads are all wrong...

I'm fairly certain the label was 220 CPS...
Though, I may have made a mistake. I hadn't even realized the designs were so different until I went back and looked at the previous page!

The original design was 41 floors, so it very well could be the old iteration of 220 CPS.

It would make sense considering they had to ask the developers for these materials (and probably began planning the exhibit almost a year ago). The Nordstrom Tower was one omission because of this.

That model is 515 Park Avenue, which is a completed building (~early 2000s i think).

On 2nd thought, maybe RAMSA shouldn't. That building is just across park ave a couple hundred ft away & it's not his design. Lol

That Park Avenue building was the Zeckendorfs' first outing with a historicist NYC luxury building. It was a pretty big success if I recall correctly, even though critics weren't enamored with some of the more clunky post-modern details. Of course they eventually went on to 15 CPW. And now 45 e. 60th.
