I agree 984ft is realistic and attainable for this tower.

In regard to if this is the final design....YIMBY reported this the other day...

YIMBY spoke with project insiders, who also indicated that the renderings leaked earlier this week (scooped by Curbed) may not be final, with minor design revisions possible

Love the design, cladding, base and interiors. While One57 have pretty much only great high views with rather kitsch glass cladding this one HAVE IT ALL

The design is very reminiscent of the Art Deco style.. However I agree that they dropped the ball with the crown

What we have seen from the latest renderings is not final as stated by an insider of this project.

Minor changes probably would occur and the crown may be tops for some refinement. My hope is that they make the crown bigger/ taller to push this sucker to 985'.

Now, it will be a stunning block, and those little gems will finally have good company! What a transformation.

Is that where the motor entrance will be located?? on 58th street? It did not occur to me on what side the entrance will be. I hope to see what the CPS side would look like because that is the most important side imo.

Going to be an awesome addition... that view is so striking and grand. The only off thing is that the whole Central Park area will be highlighted by a set of monuments in the guise of talls and supertalls to the crème de la crème of the 1%. It's why I like HY more.... while most couldn't afford to live there either it will at least have a big cultural/popular aspect that will draw average people as well as tourists from the US and all around the globe along with the High Line wrapping around it. No one can doubt though the the architectural brilliance of seeing al those soaring towers won't make for a breathtaking vision. LOL though only we will have to resign ourselves to only looking up, let the multimillionaires and billionaires look down.

That's a great diagram! But astonishingly, based on the renders, it almost seems too thick.

I'm glad to see that NYC is building buildings such as this. It balances out the skyline with all of the glass clad skyscrapers going up.

This building has a very classic Art Deco vibe. Too bad there can't be a bangin penthouse in the crown with a lap pool on the roof...

I'm probably a little late to the party but still, this looks awesome! Whoever designed this understands New York! Such a beautiful design.

Vornado Secures $600M Loan For Central Park South Project
http://www.law360.com/articles/50629...-south-project

Quote:
Vornado Realty Trust has secured $600 million in financing for the development site on 57th Street in Manhattan that it acquired in October after a long-running feud with rival Extell Development Co., Vornado announced Monday.

The real estate investment trust completed the $600 million loan secured by the 220 Central Park South assemblage with interest at Libor plus 2.75 percent, according to Monday's statement. The loan matures in January 2016, and comes with three one-year extension options.
