Did they change the design? The building on that sign has a totally different top.

It looks like they just cropped it poorly and didn't include the crown

Looks awful there, like some cheap vegas hotel with tiny windows.

I hope that was just a truly bad drawing of a render, because the buildings look nothing alike. It better not change from the classy, elegant classic to that awkward box.

I looked again and just simply was a bad drawing, and the top was cropped out. It just doesn't do the Stern design justice at all.

The illustration on the site makes the tower seem more squat as opposed to the slenderness of the render. Two completely different towers imo. Looks like they added another row of windows to the right of the tower.

It's a bad render anyway. Why not a good 'photo' rather than a drawing?

That's not a bad drawing. that's a completely different building than the render.

I really hope they're not ruining the top notch classic we were all led to believe was going up there. Because the render made it look nowhere near as fantastic.

l'm disappointed that it's not the render but you cant really judge it from the illustration. This tower will look great i'm sure.

I'm sure it will, too. As far as I'm concerned what has been pictured in renderings soaring over Central Park is basically what we're going to see.

I just noticed something in that sketch rendering posted at the construction site that I have not noticed on the renderings released. There is this mini cantilever going on with 220 CPS that starts about 100’ above street on the Eastern Fašade side and sure enough there is one depicted in the zoning diagram.

Also, for the most part I think the sketch is the same but a big portion of the top of the tower had been omitted in the sketch shown at the construction site. Perhaps they had done this on purpose because the crown is still a work in progress.

I don’t remember where I read it but I remember hearing from someone in the know stating that there may be some changes from the rendering shown. Specifically the crown may not be a finalized product. I don’t know so please don’t quote me on that.. I might have dreamt that in my dreams. Lol.

I'm sure the rendering is much more accurate than what that crap drawing displays so I'm sure there's no need to worry

Most people walking by the site either already know how this tower will look or simply don't care. The slapdash image is just that: a slapdash posting.

(in the case of a Gene Kaufman hotel, these DOB postings actually do help the architect identify which site he's at)

Might as well have a stick figure guy pointing to a stick figure tower saying "Big building goes here!"
