I love how those people probably have no idea that they're just walking on a thin little spec of land with 40 foot drops on both sides.

New York City To Get A Seven Star Hotel

I kind of skimmed over this but i saw them mention 57th street, just made me wonder if it has to do anything with this tower

It's not for this tower. That 7 Star Hotel is planned at the former Rizzoli Bookstore site.

here's the thread:

I love that the lock on one of the gates on the 58th Street side is broken! The door swings inwards to an overlook with a well built railing.

They found the broken latch and fixed it...
This is all you can get from street level.

The architect, developers, financiers and future tenants disagree with you.

Lol ok Borat. Let's rewind here. I am curious... Why do you think " this building is too high for such a design" ? Is it because the design incorporates an Art Deco style crown that we haven't seen the likes of for well over half a century and you believe that it will have too radical of an impact on the skyline?

it is probably the best design going up at the moment.30 park place is okay ,but this is neo-deco and if anything it should be at a different location so that this gem could shine,it could have even fit better in downtown

220 CPS may be overshadowed by its taller neighbors, and blocked from some directions, but this tower will have plenty of opportunity to shine, seeing as it's right on the edge of CP with zero potential for future developments to block the view from the Park.

I'm not totally in love with the design yet. As with 30 Park (and a lot of Stern's other designs), it sits in sort of an odd post-modern place: too clean to truly feel Art Deco, too ornate to truly feel modern. I would love it if Stern doubled down on an intricate crown, or some other subtle facade details. Also, I hope this gets clad in real limestone.

I look forward to seeing the next set of refinements, in any case. The most recent model of 30 Park with the crown detail was a vast improvement, even if the rest of the tower is still just a little too clean.

Ny luxury real estate bubble is near the explosion. A lot of project in downtown and Hudson yards area will be deleted or put on hold.

And gary Barnett say similar words.

I sure hope the design is final, 'cause it's badass!

The first time I saw the penthouse renderings, I physically got weak in the knees.
