... and Central Park, and the Upper West Side, and New York City as a whole.

Imagine if 220 Central Park South and 30 Park Place were alongside one another. Oh, the beauty.

Further more, you can now see the double height portion of 220 CPS, which is part of the quadruplex apartment.

The views from this tower are going to be incredible.

Here is a photo taken from inside the tower:

This building, or at least part of it, may turn out to be somewhat odd. The portion of the facade to the west of tower crane on 58th Street is solid cement as it is poured. That makes sense if it is the southern wall of the utility and elevator core. The facade installed over the concrete in that area, however, contains fake "windows." I have no idea how that will end up looking when the building is complete, but it is strange to look at now. Will the "glass" installed in these spots look like the other openings? Will there be fake lighting? Curious.

Heh, I would advise you to look back a few pages and you will find a whole discussion about this ... but then I'd also have to advise you not look back at that discussion, because it quickly devolved into childishness and insult-throwing about the definition of a "window" and lots of claims of "Mickey Mouse" architecture.

The short answer is: yes, there are "windows" being installed on the facade covering the Southern concrete wall (you can already see them in some photos from the street level), and they appear to have LED panels to simulate interior lighting.

For the record, please stop blaming Stern. I'm sure if you could build a tower without a core and elevators they would. Unfortunate due to physics this is not possible. Any other architect would have come to the same issue. I personally think these fake Windows are the best solution to the issues but obviously others disagree. Really I'm just happy it's not 900' of blank wall.

Most of my posts over here were well argumented and I was only trying to make a nice distinction between what's Neo Art Deco and what's Postmodern. People should not mix these two, that's all.

No one bats an eye when a glass box covers a concrete expanse with glass windows to maintain the curtain wall. Not sure how this is any worse than that. It's certainly better than a 900 foot sheer wall of limestone, even if there was a decorative pattern on it.
