Then, think twice. (glass is used as a construction material, just like limestone, if it covers a wall completely it does not mimic windows with frames, lit from the inside).
I really don't want to get involved in this sort of discussions again. Just don't mention my childish definitions of a window and of course continue with your love and appreciation for the building and the style it has. I shall focus on the projects that I like and New York has a lot of projects.

Hey man, I should really clarify -- when I was referring to the childishness of the debate I wasn't trying to single out your definition or any of your posts, rather the excessive silliness that sprung out of it (I was a part of it, as were several other members). I should have worded my most recent post differently.

But you've got a lot of great insights and although we disagree on a few things, don't let disagreements stop you from voicing your opinions.

It'll be interesting to see how those three limestone Stern towers compare when they're all completed. Maybe if the Park Lane gets redeveloped it'll be four limestone Stern towers anchoring the south end of Central Park.

You may not understand this, but it has nothing to do with fake bring trendy or not. They're obviously only gonna make the kind of money hey want on this super luxury tower if they can go high enough on a very small footprint so they can sell CP views.
Thanks to that the tower as wide as it can go on the CP side but very narrow on the north/south axis, so only a side core worked. Either that or you have no tower at all.
Would clients buying into a building like this appreciate a ~1000' blank wall, or a more harmonic facade? Obviously Stern thinks the latter, so you have those windows now. Def looks better than the wall option on this architectural style, what is the big deal?

Some of this is perhaps Stern being unable to shake his Disney past. I wonder if Peter Pennoyer or Davis Brody Bond did something similar if anyone would notice or care.

Also the architecture should always be authentic ship sailed a long time ago. Like when Brunelleschi did Santa Maria Novella with a facade that clearly does not match the existing plan of the building. Because these are emulating punched windows I think it stands out to those watching the construction closely a little more than spandrel glass, which is common but just as deceptive.

Call me a heretic, but I still think 15 CPW is the best of the bunch (30 Park Place included).

This is a tower that knows exactly what it is, and isn't playing pretend about what era it was built in.

From August 5th
The crane and the tip of the tower showed up on the skyline from Newark, about 10 miles away.

What is the Central Park South ? Is it the tower where there is the writing or the tower behind it ?

Both. And no need to requote entire pictures.

Man Stern's buildings do fit like a glove. Took me a minute to recognize The Chatham, one of his earlier residential towers dead front and center in this picture.
