Awesome! Exceeded my expectations! I saw it this morning on curbed and was very excited with the new renders. Another positive thing is that it will grow very fast due to its thinness.

Those interior renders are incredible!
It's like a mansion in the sky! :O

P.S when is this expected to rise?

Mother of god. This absolutely destroys any other major new project in NYC sky high.

Nordstrom tower better up its game, but I think the game is already over.

BUT, that render of the view back towards downtown is a little wishful thinking (or downright false advertising) when you take into account that Nordstrom Tower is going to be right there.

Love it, beautifully designed. The 57th street skyline from Central Park is going to become a modern world wonder i.m.o. Go Gotham Go!

Not in the slightest. Its better than 95% of the modernest garbage you praise so much.

Proportions? Off.
Crown? Way off.
Cladding? Eh.

The interior is okay, but the rest is average at best.

I gotta disagree with you there

The only thing is that I'm surprised it's thin on the west-east side. Other than that, AM Appy.

When you compare it to the building it's referencing, 1 Wall St. you see that 220 CPS is a thoroughly contemporary tower:

Which is to say, this is no shoddy knock-off of some previous architecture, but an evolution. The proportions are naturally different due to the huge windows and towering height. An issue with a lot of modernist devotees is the idea that all architecture preceding modernism ceased to develop and advance, and met a dead end. Clearly this isn't the case.

See, that one has a nice crown, nice proportions. Stern's downtown condo looks more like that, and will look better than this one, at least imo.

Revealed: 220 Central Park South
http://newyorkyimby.com/2014/01/reve...ark-south.html

Quote:
Given the benefit of a Central Park South address — and vistas that will be among the best in the entire world — the assumption that 220 Central Park South will become the city’s most expensive address is not unreasonable, and as Curbed notes, it appears that many of the floors will be single units. The penthouse will likely be several levels, and when figures are released, a $100 million + asking price seems inevitable.
Read all about it in link!

I would definitely buy here, but I would be embarrassed to drive my car in there and enter my building. I'll just park my car down the street. lol.

Car too humble? Well, if you can buy an apartment, surely you could spare some money for a German car?
