Hoboken / Jersey City Heights

Now we visit a small but Dense city in NJ , Hoboken has 50,000 people packed in 2 SQ miles. Most live Multi level condos and apartments. Its a mostly rich city with the poor living along the border with Jersey City. Hoboken is well connected into Regional Transit grid by 11 Regional Rail lines , 3 PATH lines and 3 light Rail lines....Jersey City Heights is served by 2 Light Rail stops.... Both Jersey City Heights and Hoboken have great views of Manhattan and Downtown Jersey City. Jersey City Heights section is slightly more diverse then Hoboken and has more working class people.

Jersey City Heights ...

There are worse places on earth to live in. Looks a nice town near the big metropolis.

We have a Hoboken too. It's a part of Antwerp, a harbour city where lots of emigrants embarked to go to the New World. Maybe Hoboken NJ was named after the the Belgian Hoboken?

Its named after the Dutch Hoboken , this part of NJ was settled by Dutch.

There's no Hoboken in the Netherlands... only in Antwerp, Flanders, not very far from the Dutch border.

Don't forget in the 16th century (the time when Dutch people settled in NJ) ten thousand of Flemish people fled to the Netherlands because of the religious wars between Catholics and Protestants. Among them thousands of intellectuals, sailors and traders from Antwerp.

I think it is Belgian...this region has a mix of names ...Dutch , Norwegian , Native American , English and Swede...
