Historical video about the construction of the Tunnelbana.

Video of two metro trains arriving.

All forms of rail traffic in Stockholm as of 2009. It doesn't have the new tram in the city centre in the video.

A MAN bus in the middle of Scania land down in Södertälje.

Some more from the red line. The music is fascinating. Does anyone know what it is?

New double-decker buses 'VDL Syndergy' have been launched in the Stockholm Östra - Norrtälje line:

(c) DN.se

All the vehicles are run entirely on biofuel and have 84 seats each. The buses are customised for the customer in conformance with Swedish public transport requirements, and include such features as wheelchair space and a wheelchair ramp. Both the lower and upper deck are 185 cm high. The vehicles also include video surveillance, an alcohol lock for the driver, route indication screens and a ticket system. Also, there is a free wireless net available on board.
The company 'SL' hopes that new comfortable buses will be a good and intelligent choice for pasengers who live in a more distant suburbs which have no metro or suburban railway service and commute to the center of the metro area every day. Also, the buses may be a good sollution to reduce the car traffic to the city as the new buses will be operated every 7 minutes in peak hours.

No matter what they do, busses can never be as comfortable as trains or metro or even LRT..

Indeed, but it is not a big problem, if some suburbs are served by buses.

This bus will be one of the many exciting displays for the Gay Pride event in August.

The requirement to fill both sides of the bus was only 16,000 photos, however, that requirement was met within 10 hours of the competition opening. Now all faces will also be displayed in a separate tent at the pride event.

That's a fantastic idea!

Sorry to reply to an old discussion, I've actually only just read the new timetables for the bus to Norrtälje.

For those who don't know, Norrtälje is located around 70km north of Stockholm. These new buses will see a service frequency of every 6-7 minutes during peak hours of 6:00 - 8:15 and 15:00 - 18:00. This is really good given the distance between Stockholm and Norrtälje. The journey takes an hour and the bus operates at a frequency of every 15 minutes off-peak and on Saturdays/Sundays.

Can't complain about that.

Yes, the idea is good and it may be a great success once the more buses will be operated starting from autumn this year.

I am not very sure whether this video has been already posted or not (sorry, if it already was), but here is a presentation of the new station 'Odenplan' which is under construction:

A new station which is a part of the projekct 'Citybanan' is being constructed 35 m. under the ground level, under the existing metro line, which will be connected with each other.

That was a fascinating video and I've not watched it before (so I've not posted it here myself).

It's really interesting to see how complex the building is given the interactions between every single metro line and the commuter rail system. Makes you realise how complex interchanges like Bank/Monument station on the London Underground are. I can't wait for this to be finished in 2017 though - it will make such a difference to train traffic in Stockholm.

Indeed, it is an amazing project that is interesting to follow. And here is a scheme of the new station 'Central Station/T-Centralen':

(c) tunnelbuilder.com

where 'Existerande röd/grön/blå tunnelbanelinjer' - exisitng red/green/blue metro lines, 'Spår-, service-, och stationstunnel' - railway, service and station tunnels, 'Centrala, Norra mellanplanet' - Central, Nortehern interchanges.

I think you'll find that is the render for the Central Station/T-Centralen as the blue line and red line don't pass through odenplan.
