that vid seems way way way to short. Let's see if they re-upload a "real" version.

The new depot for the metro trains will be built near the existing one in Högdalen:

http://www.dn.se/sthlm/nya-t-banedep...gs-i-hogdalen/

Does that mean they'll build connecting tracks to Hökarängen/Gubbängen?

According to the New Subway project's website it'll serve both Green and Blue lines. Plus that that option in the public review stage did have the connection you mention (it has 2-3 option for how to do it, I have no clue if they've chosen one or still are considering which one to do).
So I'd say Yes, that connection will be built.

http://nyatunnelbanan.sll.se/sv/arti...nar-i-h-gdalen

I'm very much in favour of this decision. Makes it cheaper and creates a connection from the new Blue line to the Green line that can be used to transfer trains. Makes a lot of sense.

The irony, hopefully temporary, is that the lines that don't need ERTMS will have trains supporting it, while the line that requires ERTMS, Botniabanan, has trouble getting such trains.

Hehe, the X60B has been up there doing tests specifically to test the ERTMS. So at least it's getting use as a testing track

I have some videos from my wandering around Stockholm that I've just not shared yet.

Here we go.

Starting off with the Roslagsbanan, a super-narrow gauge railway system serving the north-east of the city. We're at one of the new stations (Universitetet) here.

Here we are on our way to the terminus at Stockholms Östra.

A tour of the terminus of the Roslagsbanan showing where the interchange with the tunnelbana is at Tekniska Högskolen.

Now a new rail line to be featured by me, the Saltsjöbanan. This is a light rail kind of line that stretches to Saltsjöbaden in the south-east of Stockholm. This is the journey all the way from Slussen (terminus) to Saltsjöbaden.

Finally, a feature of Saltsjöbaden station.

Hope that's of interest. It features some of the lesser known lines of Stockholm.

New-generation Stockholm commuter EMU inaugurated
05 Apr 2016

SWEDEN: Stockholm County Council’s transport authority Stockholms Läns Landsting and Alstom inaugurated the first Coradia Nordic X60B commuter electric multiple-unit at Stockholm Central on April 4.

SLL ordered 46 six-car electric multiple-units in June 2012 for €440m under a framework agreement signed in 2002. Deliveries from Alstom’s Salzgitter plant started in January, with the trains being transported by ferry from Rostock to Trelleborg. Alstom is to deliver two trainsets per month until November 2017. When deliveries are complete operator Storstockholms Lokaltrafik will have 129 Coradia Nordic trains in operation, including 83 four-car sets

I just noticed what you're trying to convey with your photo - you cannot see the station name from the train any more as the green beam blocks your view? Really?

I didn't notice that! Well spotted and by the gods that is an amazingly idiotic placement. Seriously, how hard can it be to make sure you can see a sing from the trains?

Tempted to head down there this weekend just to see if there is any visible signage at all. What was wrong with the old signs and their location? They were visible enough before!

Hello Swedes! I'm flying into Stockholm on Monday afternoon Sweden time, and I need some quick info about public transport, specifically the following:

* Travelling from and to Arlanda Airport into the city (fares and methods of transport), and
* Fares and smart cards for travelling on the public transport system around Stockholm (I'll be in town until the 17th and will be walking and catching PT a lot of the time).

Any assistance would be awesome, even if just to direct me to some useful websites.

Cheers!
