The Beyond Sport Summit and Awards 2011 will be held in Cape Town, South Africa. Each year, Beyond Sport travels to a different city around the world to host the Beyond Sport Summit and Awards. In 2009, the inaugural event was held in London and in 2010, the event took place in Chicago. Why Cape Town: At the heart of Beyond Sport are the most inspirational people and organisations in the sport-led social sector. Cape Town is a city that reflects Beyond Sport’s mission for what it is doing for sport and development on both a global and grassroots level. That is why the Beyond Sport Summit 2011 will take place Cape Town December 5-8, where leaders in the worlds of sport, government, development, business, and philanthropy will gather to address how sport can make tangible positive change in communities around the world. Over four days of poignant talks, workshops, networking parties, exclusive dinners, and awards ceremonies, we will provide a platform for discussion and a space for business to be done. The Summit 2011 will be groundbreaking in the way that high profile leaders and action-oriented innovators draw on their experiences and knowledge to further develop how sport can make a difference. |
