Tenochtitlan is really underrated. In particular outside of latin america.

To the OP, I enjoy your photos. They show me places that I didn't get to see during the one and only time I visited the city (to date). I got to know a little of Colonia Juarez, a very little, but I want to see more in person.

seemingly a nice city but is it easy for a tourist to commute from one place to another using the public transportation?

Well, I would it's not that hard. Subway is very cheap (less than a half of usd) easy to use and it takes you to almost every worth seeing places.

Advertisements are only in spanish but that's not a big problem since every station has it's own image so you can associate the stations.

Besides that, taking buses might be a problem for a non-local person. Cabs are fine, really, I don't think you'll have any problem, unlike a lot of people still think about taking cabs at Mexico City.

Anyway, you can always ask the ppl in your hotel how to get to some places and I'm sure they will let you know how to do it.
