Well, so far the schedule of all the main passenger craft have been given here, but don't forget that there are many small planes (Cessnas' etc) for the flying school.

Everyday you see these small planes shooting the runway as they practice take off and landings...

There is also a second asphalted runway in Neg Or too, at barangay Maglinao in Basay...

It's not being used though. It used to be used for transporting mining produce.

I alsol remember a few years ago, they wanted to build an airport in Canlaon, but couldn't find land hard enough to build a runway. They were wanting to deliver veg to Manila.

The Maglinao airport is quite large, and still intact...I don't know if they will still make use of that, but I hope they will. The area where that airport is located, I could imagine, could have been like a city in its heydays, with the community thriving around it, and the commercial activities that went on that area. Too bad it was closed when mining activities in the area stopped. I was told that Marcos cronies used to fly bullions of gold at night when there was still mining activity in the area.

If I'm correct this airport was actually identified as the future Dumaguete Airport.

just saw SkyCable's local newscast awhile ago @ Channel 15, and Mayor Albert Ator of Siaton said that Clark Devt. Corp. CEO Felipe Remollo (former Dgte. City Mayor) was again pushing and lobbying for the construction of an international airport in Siaton town to complement and eventually replace DGT's present location

They have long been pushing for Siaton to be the site of the new airport in NegOr since the Sibulan airport can no longer be expanded.

If that's the case they should support and push for the development of the San Carlos City Airport which was planned a few years ago....its an old runway strip of the San Carlos Milling Company. that would be a good idea if they plan to bring Canlaon's veggies, fruits and flowers to Manila.

Sometime in 2008 PAL used their A320s to DGT. RP-C3229 and 3230 were the A320s I saw. It was an amazing sight to see those planes come to a halt.

I guess they used the a320 when they started their flight in DGT! in 2008!

My Biology teacher once told me that the under sea current changed when they extended the runway outwards to the sea.... even changed the seascape...

International airport
proposed in Siaton

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

“If we have the money, the present airport should be transferred to a wider and safer location, “ Rep. George Arnaiz (Neg. Or., 2nd District) said in response to suggestions that plans for the construction of an international airport in Bondo, Siaton, Negros Oriental, be revised.

Arnaiz said there should be a united decision of the entire officialdom in the province on the proposal, and added that only one proposal should be submitted to the president, for possible endorsement.

He also said plans to construct the airport should be reconciled, adding that another plan was proposed when he was governor and, during the stint of former president Joseph Estrada, the construction of an airport in Bais City, as well as a seaport.

Arnaiz said “Definitely, we cannot have two airports at the same time and if “we have the money, the present airport in Sibulan should be transferred elsewhere.”

Barangay Bondo in Siaton would also be a good site, Arnaiz said.*JG

Well, if madayon man gani ang pagbalhin sa Dumaguete Airport didtu sa Siaton, I feel sorry for travelers from the north. But if there are no other alternatives, then they will just have to suck it up.

Not this one. Maglinao is the bukid sa Basay. Basay is 126km from Dumaguete, then kinahanglan mosulod sa bukid para sa Maglinao.
