Some really fantastic videos here, great idea for a thread (and thank you for posting it in the thread finder)!

I'll add my own to the mix too:

A comparison. London to Brighton past and present!

A journey from London to Brighton in 1953!

A journey from London to Brighton showing 1953 and 1983 side by side.

A more up to date version of the same journey from the 2000's.

You're welcome.

This is 1 of the most impressive video that I have ever seen. UK railways : 30 years of unchangement.

Sad thing is, you're probably right! Britain did put down an awful lot of its railway infrastructure during the advent of rail travel. Sure it's all been nicely upgraded over time, but the bare bones are still there!

A high speed view of the route Amsterdam Schiphol Airport - Rotterdam

Made by forummer Maarten Otto.
The simulated speed is about 560 km/h, and the song, which is about somebody being in a terrible hurry, is actually hilarious fitting for this video.

Youtube-user with some timelapses from Metro and Tram in Oslo and some Norwegian railways aswell:
http://www.youtube.com/user/1435mm

Here is one where the older freight+local line runs parallell with the newer highspeed mainline north of Oslo then merge to a single-tracked line:

And the hillside lightrail from Frognerseteren at 470 meters altitude makes it's way down to sea-level:

Not going to spam the tread with all the videos
