Sorry am i missing something here, what makes Chrysler so "beautiful and extraordinary" as people seems to perceive it on this forum?

In the Supertalls World cup, it'll be easier for any well designed supertall building to be eliminated. And is this an annual tournament or a one-off tournament?

Better in the next tournament to include the real comparison of building in size.

It will be more fair to the huge and super tall structure. Coz just by seeing 2 totally different pic with different angle too, size will not affect that much sometimes even be ignored.

As old saying goes, it's not the size that matters, it's how you use it. I would prefer Smith Tower or Space Needle in Seattle over majority of Dubai's towers anytime.

It is simply wrong to say that size does not matter in such a competition, for the most basic reason why a 200m tower, no matter how elegant, would not appear as a competitor.

Moreover, a comparison diagram in sizes is not to make voters purely voting size, but to give voters a visual representation so they have room to consider the difference in size and weigh this factor in addition to any other factors (which may include design, historical significance, iconic tower or not) to make up their final decision.

I agree that a comparison diagram would be very useful because height in number is not enough to realize the huge diference between two buildings such as SWFC and CB

^ this is not a photo competition, the image is merely there to remind you what supertall you're voting on. If you have no knowledge of the building and judge it by the image, then you should not be voting, really.

I would suggest you to put either all render image or no image at all and just put the link to the building forum. If you look at the comment in the voting site, you will notice that some people are voting against render image building vs real image building. Not to be satisfied all people, but standardize images should be used. It would be naive to think all people can see the building in person, hence, photo will be used as part of the consideration of the voting. Just my 2 cent. no offence.

The image of the Shanghai WFC was replaced because people were complaining that it wasn't 'fair' that only the top was showing, and reasoned it needed a full profile image.

I guess like in real elections, people *always* will complain no matter what you do. I'd say that good thing though, means that it's being taken serious.

Or you replaced several images just to make that banner?
SWFC will lose the competition anyway, just think that it deserves a better picture...

Wouldn't matter. American buildings are getting big favoritism and the two "classic" american buildings (Chrysler and ESB) will not be stopped. I mean, AON was close to Greenland in voting and Sears beat the much more elegant Kingkey FC. It's quite obvious that American skyscrapers are getting unreasonably boosted in comparison to eastern skyscrapers.

Well actually people will have different tastes in Architecture.

Let's use car analogy.

Chrysler Building and ESB is like the classic Ferrari 250GTO while modern buildings like SWFC and Kingkey is like a new, shiny Lamborghini.

To me, the Burj is like a Bugatti Veyron. It only breaks records, but I don't see anything else special about it.

Exactly. It is just a matter of taste and not a holy war between old and new...

It is a little similar to Madrid Tower (Respol)
