thats a supertall structure, but not a supertall skyscraper. the contest is only about buildings, not towers

look at the time. it might change during the next hours or day. the time the contest starts is always 22 british time. i think a lot of europeans are online then and voting. a few hours after the contest more american users might join and it will change again. but thats just my guess, maybe it actually can keep being so near :P

From my observation, the tower that is leading by the first hour after contest starts will eventually win the contest. The only exception is Q1 vs Kingkey.

Towers is a good subject for a World Cup as well. We might line up the top 32 for a next tournament.

We should do one for airports. They are a big part of architecture as well.

Very tall one! Great architecture! Nice. I wish I can visit that, and hoping that was a tough one! Thanks for sharing!

And What about skyscrapers contest (or even high-rise)? You said that we will make additional tournaments for the continents. But then we would have very little towers from supertall section for each of these contests. So what if we could include towers from lower range for the local tournaments. That would make it even more interesting, and we would discover many new towers. I think that could be great idea, anybody agrees?

I'm praying God, city Of capitals get pass this round. ESB is an icon I get it, but overall it lacks a decent design, honestly.

this is a joke. i don't get it how people can vote for some more or less random boxes stitched together and call it "great" architecture.

the ESB has everything: height, style, design, proportion, detail,...
on the other hand my little cousin could have built CoC with his legos lol.

CoC compared to esb looks just silly. It looks like a toy not like a building. But I can understand people may like it. When one becomes interested in skyscrapers the first step usually is impression with most futuristic (often cheap, and kitschy) designs. That is also always the case when we are young. Only later when your taste mature you start enjoying things like esb, chrysler or sears.

The problem is that many people are then carried to the other extreme: automatically giving discredit and labeling a failure any new project, anywhere, as if we wouldn't be able to build anything that in 70 years will stand out as aesthetically sound and so.
