I'm just guessing here but I wouldnt be supprized if alot of Russia votes were shiped in for the CoC. Not that I'm THAT big a fan of the ESB but as far as post modern designs go the CoC isnt one I'd consider great compaired to the likes of the BoC, SWFC, Shard etc.

And since when exactly Shard has become an icon of Gherkin calibre?

And i wouldn't be surpised if most of americans voted for ESB, so that evens it out.

Hey, i voted for ESB too, but international public has a different opinion, so deal with it.

I think something is messed up with the voting, just did a count of votes in the ESB vs CoC, and my independent count came out 531 ESB and 480 CoC.

I don't care about the competition anymore. It's just a bunch of nationalist chest beating now for a silly competition on an internet message board. I'm sure the majority of those voting for both of the buildings are in their teens, anyway.

I know which building I like better, and if other people like some glass boxes that are haphazardly stacked on top of one another then I'm not going to stop them. I would recommend they have their heads checked, though.

And we all know which building is going to win the final round, anyway. Again, I've never been a fan of the Burj myself, but to each their own.

Lol, someone really wants coc to win I just counted them with a little app of mine and it gives me esb 532 vs coc 480 when the numbers shows 532 vs 540. So either some nicks are not showing up, or somebody messed up with the voting engine

Height may be one thing, but design is another thing entirely. I just don't like City of Capitals. Moscow has better buildings than that.

OK, It's a matter of taste. City of Capitals is my favourite skyscraper, I find it perfect.

And that is fine. Different strokes for different folks.

Like I said, though, we all know which building is going to ultimately win. I think it begins with Burj Dubai/Kahlifa. Not a fan of that building myself, but to each his/her own.

CoC looks wonderful at night! Cone to think of it, so does the whole IBC, can't wait till mercury city is added to the mix, that looks great at night, golden and beautiful.

proposal :
Battle this appeal to many participants of the forum. I suggest the following format: make the principle of the Cannes Film Festival, this time everyone who was in the top 8 (or 4 best) to give the title favorites skyscrapercity 2011. In 2012, those who received a nomination, no further part in the competition, to conduct battles among the 4 categories: Old School, trivialized cube design skyscraper, progressiviti design skyscraper, renders. in each category will receive only one title favorite skyscrapercity 201х.

I disagree. IMHO, 30 St. Mary Axe is the best skyscraper, although it's rather low (188m) so that some will not consider it a "proper" high-rise.

Tour Montparnasse is also interesting because it dominates the Parisian southwest skyline.

+1

COC would be a third or fourth, but still better than ESB.
