Like I said. You could be taking a full 10 inches of good architecture from behind and still not recognize it.

The light scheme at night on that tower is INSANE! It's less impressive than the gherkin during day though, I like 30 St Mary axe's detailed cladding pattern and more pleasing shape...

Some buildings become out of date, and are demolished- others become classics. You just can't label a classic building as 'out of date'- of course they are out of date, but in a good way surely?

Say what? CoC are two towers each composed of 4 boxes, each one ever so slightly twisted. That's imaginative? A two year old could place their blocks like that. The Empire State is possibly the most brilliantly massed building on the planet. I quite like CoC, but it's nothing more than pretty decent filler.

The CoC is probably still going to win. It's already recovering it's 60 point reduction. I can still only count 525 and the count says 541. How is this not being fixed? Also, even if the figure does properly represent the number of votes, I can imagine CoC fanatics making new accounts just to boost it.

yup..its classic..i still like it..but i believe the reason for this competition is to find the best supertall.how if new modern glass with high tech const supertall lost to old heavy brick building..?howcome we will find the best?..then let us name it most iconic/popular worldcup

in term of design and construction i believe EBS in more challenging because the time factor..its hard to compared..but if we look at quality, artistic and how building will look in future..COC is a good example.its lead us to future architecture..n it will takeover by new one one day.its the main target for this worldcup i think..not to find who is the mighty one.

I disagree. The ESB has already weathered 80 years as a brilliant example of a perfect skyscraper, I fail to see how in another 80 years people will ignore it in favour of the scrapers of today.

However, if that IS your argument and if you favour modernity over all else then look to 2IFC, or ICC or Taipei 101. These are brilliant recent supertalls. Or, if you would rather limit it to Moscow, FederationTower is miles and miles better than CoC.

time factor cannot be predict by everyone..esb is weathered more 80years,maybe this tower will stand more the 200years..who knows?the only things we can find from this competition is how to make improvement on supertall in future.are brick tower more efficient or glass building is more save&safe?that a question..

yes i know there're more building better then coc,but this is between esb vs coc..coc is still better.

That's so true. Nobody can possibly love both the old and the new. I stuck up for a particular old building and put down a new building. This of course means I hate all new buildings. Oh, except that I mentioned a good four modern marvels of architecture several minutes before you posted. Get a clue.

Ok then, you think that and I think this. The poll will go whichever way it goes. I suspect there will still be some unfair play where CoC's concerned.

You are walking on a thin line here, Bruce, accusing all CoC voters (me included) of unfair play. I never heard Jan speaking on the topic - was the counter hacked by someone or was it just bugged?

I'm not at all. I'm saying there is some unfairness going on, it's clear as day. I didn't at any point say any one individual, or a group of people was responsible. You cannot ignore the discrepancy. Jan simply said he'd fixed it, which he seemed to have then, but now it seems busted again.

Something unfair is definitely going on.

Look at Burj Khalifa's voters, almost a thousand of them every single time there's a one-on-one.

The same goes for City of Capitals.

Notice how the other one-on-one competitions have only a combined voter of around 900.

Something is definitely wrong.

That's not what makes this unfair. That's not at all strange.

Why isn't it strange? Look at the figures.

It's not strange because why should there be the same number of people for each? The Burj and the ESB are probably the most interesting buildings to the most people. It stands to reason that their games would have more votes. Also, the others don't all have exactly the same, so I don't think its that odd. It would only be odd if the extra 100 were usernames didn't crop up anywhere else. THAT would suggest that there were a lot of extra accounts employed by boosters. Though, as no one's gonna look through them all, we can't be sure.

I do obviously think some strangeness is afoot, but just not because of that.
