Hope not, five buildings which I would definitely rather see taking the cup:

1. Empire State Building (never understood how Chrysler as a classic skyscraper has always been more popular than ESB)

2. Bank of China Tower (maybe the best ever, hard to compare it with ESB)

3. IFC2 (just love the simplicity)

4. Burj Dubai (because of it's height it is just so damn impressive, hard to compare it with any of the above)

5. ICC (same as with 3)

i think Chrysler building is the most overrated building in the Cup. i rather look how call they are and if i like the form and their style and not if they are old, that's why i dont like chrysler building and ESB much at all, although i know how important they were for the history of skyscrapers

I think the top 4 will be:

1.Burj Khalifa
2.Chrysler Building
3.Petronas Towers
4.Empire State Building

They are not necessarily my favs, but I think people will vote like that. The only small doubt I have about number 3. It will surely face Taipei 101, and they both hold the title of record braker, but I think the "twin power", and much better media image the petronas have will help them win this one.

Agreed. Chrysler building is outdated, and its top, a failure in terms of design in my very humble opinion.

We're seeing some rather close contests on the Supertall World Cup. I kept checking the Tianjin WFC x Ruygyond Hotel every other day to see how that match developed.

Some buildings are being damaged on voting by particularly bad angles shown on the voting menu. Menara Telekom comes to mind.

It is very interesting to me to see how some buildings I like are out of favor in the general polls.

The 1/3 top part of the Chrysler Building, is the most awesome skyscraper sight ever. I was so lucky to stay just one block away on the 42nd St. when I visited NYC some times back.

On the other hand, ESB to me was just another tall tower, but with great historical significance going for it.

It's really bad that the old WTC twins aren't in this tournament. I think they should be included.

Imo the top of Chrysler is beautiful, however I prefer the somewhat more solid, basic designs.

Also: I do not like the rest of the building that much. ESB has a better overall design. The base of Chrysler is too wide compared to the middle part.

I'd love it if the semifinalists were Ryugyong, Khalifa, Jin Mao, and ESB

Not jin mao, ESB, petronas or Taipei (these 4 are SOOOO overrated ) and add to the finals Chrysler building, university of Moscow & bank of china (HK).

Round of 64 is ending today. Interesting to see how the number of voters was kept consistent after a initial expected drop on the 3 first polls. It's been almost always between 580-650.

Change the picture for SWFC please? Seriously that picture only shows 1/5th of the whole building.
