why we cannot stand with u,becoz anything from american is to much overated, the city, the skyline, the building..just look on 70c tournoment, america conquer the candidates..what a pity
Very DISrespectful?

Let me show you disrespect:
" its dont deserve final2,top4 is"
"why we cannot stand with u,becoz anything from american is to much overated, the city, the skyline, the building.....what a pity"

You undermine your own argument. I have never once said anything about the great people of the nation of Malaysia. You show your own bias by saying how "we" (whoever that may be) cannot stand anything with America. I advise that henceforth you chill that mouth out for a bit.

Urh. Sick of those people bitching abt how beautiful Petronas is and how hideous the podium of Chrysler is. This tournament is supposed to be abt taste, isn't it. I'm an Asian, and I find it silly how many just keep talking abt stuff like symbol of Asia or this beacon that beacon. Myriads of people love Chrysler and ESB. Deal with it!

"We Americans" are simply human beings, just like you, just like Asia, just like the rest of the world.

The Chrysler building was built in 1930. I don't think people understand the magnitude of a 1,000+ foot structure that is 80 years old, still in use, and still beautiful and elegant to this day. The tools and technology used during that time pale in comparison to today, and yet the Chrysler building is still an architectural delight. At least in my book.

By what logic is it not supertall? It's over 300m which is the only qualification a tower needs to be considered a supertall. The 'real' height of the Chrysler Building is 319m. I do know that, and I'll be happy to talk about it. Spires are included, and Chrysler's is one of the finest spires in existence.

If you are talking about the roof height, which is indeed, only 282m, then should you not consider your beloved Petronas to be only a hair over 400m? Sure it's still a supertall, but by that definition it would never have been WTB, something which the Chrysler I believe would still have accomplished if you compare it to 40 Wall Street's roof height.

Also, American's always hide? First off, I'm sure you know that characterising an entire nation with one sweeping statement is incredibly stupid. Second, if I were to do just that, and stereotype and entire country's people as you have, I'd say Americans are thought of as quite the opposite of 'always hide'-ing, it just fits your argument to say that.

To Jan, there's some messed up numbering and labelling going on on the London vs Frankfurt Cup. Just a heads up.

I'm not a fan of either building, but of the two I prefer the Chrysler Building.
