Well, it's not tall enough I'm afraid. If it was expanded to the top 32 it'd be in there.

For the upcoming Construction Cup, I consider it very unfair that Shanghai Tower and Freedom Tower will meet already in the second round of the preliminary rounds. I request that the starting bracket should change, because the one we have now is an insult to the Shanghai Tower.

I say this because I know Freedom Tower will get more votes than Shanghai Tower.

You are going to say its unfair whenever shanghai tower meets something that gets more votes. And they would meet in the third round

Yes, third round, my mistake. But its still too early on.

Shanghai Tower is the most favourited supertall project on this forum, and it has more votes than Freedom Tower in the "Favourite Supertall" thread. However, when they meet already in the third round, Freedom Tower will win because there are more Americans on this forum. And if Shanghai Tower wins, the Americans will accuse the Asians for making fake accounts and Freedom Tower will win anyway.

Just my theory. And in my opinion we could avoid these troubling negotiations during the cup if the starting bracket changed a bit and put Shanghai Tower and Freedom Tower a bit more aside from each other.

You mean your hypothesis. A theory means it's time-tested and correct, which it is not.

I would think there are more Asians prowling SSC than any other group. So for you to automatically assume that really isn't valid. You know, it's not even worth arguing about....I'll get accused of "finger pointing."

Accusations of fake accounts doesn't immediately make the other tower win. Only if it turns out to be true when Jan checks might it mean that, and there'd still need to be enough of them to lower the score a long way.

I would say also that there are probably more asians on here than americans, simply because there are way way more of them in the world.

Time will tell, my brothers.

I still stand by my request. Whether the mods will ignore it or not is up to them.

No seeding system may seem perfect, but I believe this is the most objective one.

Seeing the Frankfurt vs London competition it has become pretty clear now that the quality of pictures does have a mayor influence on the outcome (as well as some bias of course ).

I still think it would be better if we choose another system of voting, we should try to line up all of the major skyscrapers that have been in preliminary rounds and everyone would vote for his favourite, because this type of wimbledon voting can wipe out really beautiful skyscrapers just because it is not in NY. Thatīs my opinion, please consider it before insulting me.

Agreed, I would hate to see Shanghai Tower not reach the finals just because it has to meet Freedom Tower in the preliminary rounds. Most of us know that Shanghai Tower is better from an architecutal point of view, but you know.... its Freedom Tower and the only thing this voting system will prove is that there are more Americans on this forum. Please don't bash on me for saying this.

some suggestions for future competition: having preliminary rounds for countries that have so many skyscrapers (i.e. China, UAE just to name a few)
try matching newly-industrialized countries, it'd be kinda fair to do so.

Don't call you out for being incorrect? Sorry, but that request is a bit too much to ask. You need a disclaimer on all of your comments stating: merely my uninformed opinion. Most of us know what exactly? Neither you, nor I can judge a thing like that. It is completely your opinion.

I don't mind opinions, however when you try to brush it off as a clearly spoken fact, I will most assuredly call you out.

Its his opinion that "most of us know that Shanghai Tower is better from an architectural point of view". Prove me otherwise, or it was implied. So everyone just shut up, this thread should be closed as supertall world cup has already ended.

This is actually the dumbest thing I've ever seen anyone say on this website.

Shanghai tower is nothing more than a second rate country trying to make the world think it is more powerful than it really is.
