what buildings are in the competition for the 80's cup? i hope 2 union and 1201 Third Avenue are in it. those are better than Columbia center as far as Seattle skyscrapers go.

FAIL OMG. The CN tower is 553 meters, the Willis tower antennae are 527 meters, thus this picture is BOGUS, the buildings are arranged by pinnacle height, which seems correct, but the CN tower should be replaced with Burj Khalifa to keep the heights intact.

Yes they were 'fat ass'. because way back then, when neither of us were born, they designed everything manually, using drafting boards (remember those?) and NY had (still has?) zoning laws to prevent humongous towers blocking sunlight, so large base and thin tower.

Question....on the right side, are they Messeturm and Commerzbank???

Last year I went to Malaysia for 2 weeks (with friends), I NEVER visited Genting Highlands!!!!!! I DID visit many places that to me were more interesting than a gambling palace.

Only someone from Moscow could call the Chrysler Building ugly!
I think some of the new 'scrapers in that city are just plain hideous but there you go. Actually, I really like Moscow (well, some of it)

I think the Sears tower should of beat the burj. The main excuse was because the Burj height and its new. But I think the Sears tower looks better not only by its self but its surrounding. Its the USA's icon. I really wanted to the the Sears vs Chrysler.

It's funny how some people on this thread seem to have a lot of nationalism invested in the Burj or Petronas. They were, like the Empire State Building and the Chrysler, designed by American architects.
