Southeast picture thread of random places in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu or Imo state. Delta and Rivers state pictures may be allowed because these places overlap with the south east geopolitical zone.

Your world view is so ethnocentric. How does the south-east geopolitical zone overlap Delta and Rivers states? Shed this ethnocentric plumage, there is more to life !

That is ethnocentric ! We know where the south east geopolitical zone is and to my mind, it is not an ethnic zone, at least not in the Nigerian constitution. Delta and Rivers state are in south-south geopolitical zone. Sometimes we should just shed our tribal plumage because there is really more to life than the happenstance of where you were born.

I think Nigerians should accentuate their differences, celebrate their differences, it’s only through these difference Nigeria will ever have some semblance of unity.

Acting as though Nigerians are a single monolithic group is what leads to incidences like religious riots and Boko Haram.

Is this about celebrating diversity? Or is it about the ill-definition of a geopolitical zone because of mundane ethnic perception? You missed it entirely? Is delta and Rivers in south East geopolitical zone?

You know what it’s a celebration of, the fact that Igbo people are split across two geopolitical zones is no fault of ours. Unity isn’t something that can be imposed; it’s obvious why the eastern region was split into two illogical and ill-conceived zones.

When was the defunct Eastern region divided? And which two illogical and ill-conceived zones came out of it? I do not know that part of history. I do know that the term geopolitical zones came up in 96 at Abacha's constitutional conference where the issue of rotational presidency came up. It was felt at that conference that the presidency should rotate among six geopolitical zones and of course the military brass hats rejected the concept of presidential rotation but still kept the geopolitical groupings of the states. Was the Eastern region in existence in 96?
I still maintain that the ethnocentrist that opened the thread should not confuse himself between what is Igboland and what is south East geopolitical zone. There are two distinct things. Looking for pictures of Delta and Rivers state under the banner of South East Nigeria is simply foolish. he should not allow his Igbo complex drive his thinking.
If he wants pictures of Igboland, he should say so !
