Early spring in Minneapolis and St Paul

Some earlier threads:

Minneapolis - frozen and thawing
Minneapolis - darkness and light
South Minneapolis - cruel January

Along with late winter this is the ugliest time of year here. Everything is brown and dead and there is no snow to cover it, so I took a lot of people shots. Most of the people shots are in Minneapolis, most of the neighborhood shots are in St Paul:

Construction on the Central Corridor light rail:

Six shots of my old neighborhood in St Paul:

Cathedral Hill is a nice neighborhood:

Some Minneapolis from tonight:

This is as "american" as it gets, and it's GREAT!

BTW, I'm stoned and when I saw this, I thought "WTF, is she hoovering around?", but then I understood :

I used to live in the shadow of this statue, which, itself is in the shadow of the Cathedral. Not many people know this, but the statue is of Josiah King. He was the first volunteer for the Union Army from the state that first declared its loyalty to Abraham Lincoln and the first state to muster troops for the war effort; Minnesota. He was something of a celebrity in his time...only to be forgotten in the mists of time.

It stands at the corner of Summit Avenue and John Ireland Blvd. and is quite an impressive obelisk when you stand underneath it.
