Gombel is the highest area in the Semarang city, a coastal town on the island of Java, Indonesia, located only 8 km from the city center of Semarang, Simpang Lima. In 1970, at this location there is only a public television tower, which is TVRI. Now almost all TV stations, cellular and radio communication companies to establish relay tower on this hill, making this region becomes filled with transmitter towers. From a number of towers that stand on this hill, nothing is really high and was built as a modern broadcast tower. The highest tower is only about 140 meters, but in a safer area of 1 square kilometer only there were more than 20 pieces of the tower. The distance of this hill is not too far from the down town and the beach make this a collection of unsightly towers from across the city.

Altitude Gombel hill is 260 meters above sea level. This hill is located at position: 7 ° 2'34 .48 "S 110 ° 25'23 .73" E

Sangat menarik dan arsitek yang bilang ini jelek adalah salah besar. Biarlah begitu, kalau perlu ditambah lagi biar dapet rekord. Tapi kalau ada tower yang masif seterpi TVRI di Senayan atau yang di KL atau di NHK wah sangat bagus banged. Saya sering ke daerah ini dan nampaknya ada lokasi yang cocok untuk menara hebat ini.

Here it is Semarang Up Town atmosphere. You can see very nice city skyline of Semarang Down Town from the top of Gombel peak. I want to be some hi rise building will be built on this peak someday.... I pray always and.... I hope .... I hope to be realest

lets look from another angle. What difference does it make a hill with a lot of these towers or one tower for many frequencies. It's the same I think, and a set of towers in one area with a pattern that is formed in an intact landscape can be a work of architecture and a distinctive skyline that could deliver value to its citizens.
So do not separate them, judging tower or hill.

A building does not stand above the sky isn't it? The towers were standing on the ground and we see the glory scratch the sky. And set the towers in one area is also a human creation with the engineering of nature to produce better quality.

And one more thing, this thread called "TV and OB-Towers" isn't it? Then Gombel and the region can enter this category.

In many cities, the building of the tower should be so attractive to stand out from other buildings around it that also fighting over the attention. Towers Set of Gombel not fight each other attention, but rather a concern together when assembled with a distinctive landscape.
