Lydon, you know I am a rampant Capetonian, and Portside is the best thing to happen to the city since the world cup, but...what actually is the tallest building under construction in Africa at the moment?
As per the title of the thread! It may be Portside for all I know...there are so many renders of non-existent buildings on here, I don't know what is going on!

Thank you, yes, I got the tallest building(s) part...but they need to be real buildings...or under construction.
So, again, question to everyone...what is the tallest real building in Africa at the moment...and what is the next champion (under actual construction, not a fucking crayon drawing of something that will never be built)

maputo is a 180m without the spire , the started the pilling work last year but construction has sold down so its on hold at the momentthen nxt is the one in egypt , followed dar es salaam twins then the one in ct dar es salaam again then abuja tower nigeria and luanda + drc + Tunisia finishing it off in terms of sheer numbers of 20+ floors underconstruction angola dominates every african country , its just a sea of cranes. @ diggerdog i tried to get people to post real buildings under construction but i got tired of trying to regulate this thread so ppl just continued to post imaginary buildings

its an educated guess , assuming the floors are 4m floor to ceiling as for true heights in the SA forum were quite good at getting those figures as we work in related industries or are working on some of the projects gets quite difficult to source the heights of the other buildings ...... I honestly don't have the time to do it right now .......that was the objective of this thread before it kinda got derailed but i'm sure the rest of the formers can provide u with info ps: I spoke to a Mozambican architect last year about the maputo business tower it might be back on track now ....... but the rest are actively u/c

If African countries would co-operate and join forces we wouldn't be talking about ~100-200m buildings any more as Africa's tallest. If China as a single country can have ~160 cities with over a million pop. then Africa needs to wake up and smell the coffee or Africa will end up as a continent of a thousand nations all poor.

Though not the tallest U/C towers, my best towers are in Dar, Rita tower and the Kakakuona tower which will be the tallest in TZ though not yet U/C.

It is a great idea, I agree with you completely but it must only happen in about 25 - 50 years. Things change so you never know.
