TransAero is expanding their domestic fligth network. They have a lot of long haul flights in Russia. UtAir has a much more extensive domestic network (although not so much long haul).

TransAero specializes in long haul internation vacational destinations while UtAir specializes in extensive domestic network. It is a no brainer who Star Alliance will choose. Alliance has long haul international destinations covered. Now they need access to more Russian cities that do not receive a lot of flights from abroad. They need to cover all of the gaps.

So UTair is the last one who can offer good route map.
We've posted answers at the same time but their are alike so good thinking.

Indeed.

But so far, during the time of research by Star Alliance which is lasting more than 1 year they haven't had a long haul fleet. Actually #1 requirement is to update the fleet as there are many TUs in it (less and less with each month).

I understand, but still it's maybe a shame for Transaero being a big airline without an alliance, don't they miss a large amount of passengers then? Is there maybe a codesharing with other airlines?

Transaero has delivered 8,5 million pax this year, so they dont miss large amount, they have +30% every year, they grow faster than Aeroflot even. I already told, they need to expand russian routes and to increase frequency, then they can have any chance. At the moment they have codeshare with Austrian to Vienna, Bmi to London, Singapore Airlines to Singapore, all 3 routes are served by both UN and these carriers.

I have also a question about the B767 of Aeroflot. I saw the pictures of the new A330, which is very nice, but does B767 also have personal entertainment and the orange-colored seats?

Yes, soon they will get rid of old B767, i think in 1-2 years. New planes are expected, 22 A350, 22 B787, 10 B777 + 10 more A330-300. And i even not talking about A320 Family and new SSJ planes, they will get 5-7 new planes every year. According to their strategy, their fleet should be more than 200 planes until 2015, average plane age is 3,5 yrs. In 2012 Aeroflot plans to open 20 new routes.

S7 Airlines has acquired another Airbus A320.

S7 Airlines (member of oneworld® alliance), has acquired new Airbus A320. The ceremony of aircraft delivery has taken place in Toulouse (France) on February 7th. The liner has been leased from Air Lease Corporation. It is the first aircraft for the new leasing company, as for Airbus – it is the 5001st delivery of A320 aircraft. AEX.ru

«S7 Airlines will celebrateits 20th anniversary in May. And we are happy to offer new advanced aircraft to our passengers. We will acquire six Airbus А320 aircraft in the first half of 2012. All the jets will be delivered directly from the airframer. The provision of safety and comfort for our passengers is the main objective of S7 Airlines. А320 jets meet the highest standards», - Vladimir Obyedkov, CEO of S7 Airlines, said.

А320 Family aircraft form the basis of S7 Airlines’ fleet. The new liner is the 30th one from A320 Family in the fleet of S7 Airlines. The total number of jets in the airline’s fleet has reached 43 ones. According to the delivery schedule, two more A320s will be delivered to the airline in February, one more – in April and two more – in May.

More than 8,300 A320 Family aircraft have already been ordered and almost 5000 delivered to more than 340 customers and operators worldwide reaffirming its position as the world’s best-selling single-aisle aircraft family.

«We congratulate S7 Airlines, our long-standing partner, with this anniversary delivery. A320 Family aircraft are leaders in their segment by reliability, comfort and operational costs. We are confident that these important indicators will contribute to the airline’s development», - said Christopher Buckley, Airbus Executive vice-president, Europe, Asia and Pacific.

Yakutia to Operate Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – Anchorage in S12 instead of Vladivostok Air.

Update at 1000GMT 08FEB12

As per 08FEB12 Amadeus timetable and airline inventory display, it appears that Russian carrier Yakutia is the operator for Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – Anchorage service, due to operate from 12JUL12 to 13SEP12, on board Boeing 737 aircraft. The airline is now accepting reservation for this route.

Previously reported on this site on 13JAN12, Vladivostok Air is to operate this route, however the airline did not operate Boeing 737 (although at time the post went to press, this site assumed the 737 would be coming from AEROFLOT Group) nor it opened reservation to date. Further, Yakutia’s schedule is identical to Vladivostok Air’s. Therefore, this site, based on assumption once again, believes that Yakutia is the operator for this service.

Additional follow-up posts will be made available when further changes appearing in the reservation system.

Schedule:

R3509 PKC2000 – 0410ANC 737 4
R3510 ANC0730 – 0800+1PKC 737 4
