Transaero to Keep Moscow Domodedovo – Toronto Service in S13

As per 25DEC12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Transaero has reversed its plan to move Toronto operation from Moscow Domodedovo to Moscow Vnukovo Airport from 31MAR13.

The carrier will continue to operate Moscow Domodedovo – Toronto route twice a week, on board Boeing 777-300 in Summer 2013 season.

I love to see Aeroflots new flag ship in this colors, but to be honest, I loved to old "blue tape color scheme" with flames on the tail and the engines. Okay, this wind of change is gone. Nowadays Aeroflot is not the same like it used to be 10 years ago.
Hope this time the 777 will remain in the fleet. Demand is raising.

AEROFLOT to Add Thessaloniki Service from late-April 2013

AEROFLOT from 26APR13 plans to introduce Moscow Sheremetyevo – Thessaloniki service, initially offering three weekly operation. From 18MAY13, service will gradually increase to 4 weekly, daily from 02JUN13. At present time, reservation is not available.

Transaero on 26DEC12 has started Moscow Vnukovo – Vienna operation, offering twice weekly operation on board Boeing 737-700 aircraft.

AEROFLOT Further Expands Planned A330 Operation to London Heathrow in S13

As per 31DEC12 GDS timetable and inventory display, AEROFLOT is further boosting planned capacity on Moscow Sheremetyevo – London Heathrow route from 31MAR13. The Skyteam member previously planned to operate A330-300 aircraft on 5 of 21 weekly service, however this is being expanded to 12 of 21 weekly for entire summer season.

It looks like the Russian carriers are finally catching up to more modern aircraft, and it seems like SU's B77W is a step in the right direction towards modernizing Russia's airline industry.

Well, they have already been using bunch of new A320/A330. And have 737NG on order

It started a long time actually.

Even 767s were new and were very modern at a time. But statistics wise Soviet planes dragged SU down.

I think it is all irrelevant as long as aircraft are properly maintained and have proper amenities.

WiFi in Tu-154? I dont think so.

Is it ever possible to resurrect the Soviets' failed Supersonic project, the TU-144, and return to the Supersonic age of flight again? I mean, I may sound crazy, but it's sad to see Concorde gone now...
