When will Transaero become TU204?

Do they even use their Tupolevs much? I saw a number of them parked up at DME the both times I passed through there recently. They didn't look like they had moved in a while.

I'm surprised that Transaero operates a TU-214 because usually, the airline uses Boeing aircraft for its Russia-Europe and long-haul flights... but is that type used also for long-haul journeys, or are those for charters? Pretty interesting to see that livery on a Tupolev aircraft...

Nothing concrete, but Mr.Tinkov is a very succesful businessman who earned money in different fields, currently he is in banking with Tinkoff Bank, some time ago it was beer. Many people now call him a russian Branson, founder of Virgin Group. Although it all sounds strange, but he promises a new airline with a completely new product better than Aeroflot, and its not an LCC. Rumors are that it will be some kind of Virgin Atlantic. We'll see )

This is a shot from his FB, they a filming a new promo for his airline:

Tinkov to Create Airline

Russian businessman Oleg Tinkov plans to set up an airline, he said on Facebook.

"Why don't I launch Tinkoff Airlines?" he wrote, adding that he was unhappy with Aeroflot, Transaero and S7. "We'll turn the market upside down. I invite you to our presentation on April 12, the Space Exploration Day!"

This is a good time for entering the aviation market because it grows 16 percent annually on average, said Andrei Shenk, an analyst at Investcafe. But big investments are necessary for creating an airline, and Tinkoff might have to sell some of his assets, Shenk added.

Tinkov, rated by Forbes as one of the most eccentric businessmen in Russia, controls Tinkoff Credit Systems and previously controlled brewer Tinkoff.
