News: Aeroflot plans to launch a new brand called Far Eastern Airlines, the brands Vladivostok Air and SAT are going to be merged in the new airline.
Interesting development. Question: is Aeroflot really the "parent" company of all these airlines that share the SU code on many domestic flights (even those coming in as far away as VVO, PKC, UUS, and KHV)? Plus, with the new airline (Far Eastern Airlines), will it get A330s too from SU, aside from its TU-204s and A320s? And I wonder how large will its fleet be when the two airlines are consolidated, as well as if Vladivostok (VVO) will be the combined airlines' new hub.

This is at the museum at Monino just east of Moscow. Worth a look if you ever get the chance!

Transaero to Receive twelve Boeing 737-800NG Aircraft

Transaero Airlines will get 12 Boeing 737-800NG aircraft. The acquisition of 12 Next-Generation 737-800 jetliners under the agreement signed by Russia’s largest bank Sberbank, its subsidiary Sberbank Leasing and Boeing will contribute to further expanding and modernizing the airline’s fleet.

The first Boeing 737-800NG aircraft are to be delivered to the airline in 2015. Transaero plans to operate these jetliners both on domestic and international routes.

The airline has amassed a wealth of experience in operating Boeing 737NG aircraft. In 1998 Transaero Airlines became the first in Europe and the second air carrier in the world to receive Boeing 737-700NG. Currently, the airline operates 16 Boeing 737NG aircraft including 11 Boeing 737-800NG jetliners.

Well, lets wait for the concept of tinkoff first. His announcement to operate 200 B737 makes it hard for me to accept him as a reliable busyness partner. Running breweries and run an airline are very different busynesses.

+1. Holding a bank and airline are different things + tinkov has pride. It is the same like I will make "Popov airlines"

Sounds like another Kingfisher Airlines.... and we all know how that turned out.

But then again, not all stories have the same ending.

I don't know myself if SU will truly get an A380. It has a lot of new aircraft, including the B77W and the A330 (-200 and -300 variants), and those provide sufficient range for the airline's needs. Remember, though, that it also prefers Russian-built aircraft as well (including the Sukhoi Superjet).

I can't see Aeroflot purchasing A380's. What route would they use them on?

That's the difficult question... SVO–DXB? JFK? PEK? BKK? Those are some of the large markets SU serves… perhaps also in the domestic market, VVO or KHV.

Not DXB! Currently it served by 2 A320s (1 A319/320 in summer).
But I think that:
JFK A332/B787 and A380
PEK 1 A380 and extra flight on A333 in autumn
PVG 1 A380
BKK is only in winter B787 and A380, summer will remain A330/B777
VVO B77W and A380
KHV is may be: B777 and A380 (like VVO)
As fantasy: London B77W and A388, Rome A320 and A380, Paris A319 and A380, the most contrast!

The A380 for Aeroflot! That would be a dream come ture. Highly unlikely.

The 1st 787 will come in 2016, the 1st A350 in 2018. The source doesn't make a distinction between the A350-800 and the -900. With the 1st delivery taking place in 2018 they could easily receive both versions in the same year.
