Transaero Airlines to Operate Airbus A321

26.03.2014

Transaero Airlines and ICBC Leasing, a Chinese leasing company, have signed an agreement for six Airbus A321 aircraft to be delivered between July 2015 and March 2016. The aircraft will be operated under a long-term operating lease.

The aircraft, which will be delivered to the airline from the Airbus manufacturing facility, will be equipped with sharklet wingtips. The configuration of the aircraft has already been defined and will have a passenger capacity of 170 seats. The three class cabin configuration will include 4 seats in Imperial class, 8 seats in Business class and 158 seats in Economy class. The design of the aircraft cabin aims to provide the highest level of comfort for passengers. In line with this, the seat pitch in Economy class cabin will be no less than 33 inches.Under the Transaero Connect programme the airline’s А321 aircraft will be equipped with a system that enables Internet and mobile communication connection on board.

The acquisition of the A321 aircraft is another important step for Transaero Airlines’ aircraft fleet development and renewal. Transaero has high expectations for these aircraft. Currently, it is negotiating with a major leasing company for the delivery of further eight A321 aircraft after March 2016. Overall, the company plans to take delivery of 30 A321 aircraft within the next five years.

As previously disclosed Transaero will receive the first of the A380 aircraft it has ordered, currently the world’s largest passenger airliner, in 2015. Additionally, the company will begin taking delivery of A320neo aircraft in late 2017/early 2018. Transaero is the launch customer for these types of aircraft in Russia and Eastern Europe. The airline possesses all required facilities for pilot training as well as engineering and maintenance staff to provide MRO for its Airbus aircraft.

Moreover, in line with contracts signed previously, Transaero has the delivery of new Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental and Boeing 737-800 aircraft to begin in 2015.

The combined operations of the aircraft, assembled by two world leading aircraft manufacturing companies, will provide a sustainable and efficient development of Transaero Airlines’ fleet.

Currently, Transaero operates 98 aircraft including 20 Boeing 747, 14 Boeing 777, 14 Boeing 767, 45 Boeing 737, three Tupolev Тu-214, two Tupolev Тu-204-100С. The airline has the largest fleet of widebody aircraft in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe.

For now they are leasing A320CEOs and they are trying to lease more to have a fleet of 30 A321s. I am guessing they are replacing Tupolevs and older 737s and also for fleet expansion. The A320NEO will come in 2017 with 737-800 coming sooner than that.

Aeroflot is sharply increasing frequencies to Simferopol from Moscow, raising the Airbus A320 family service to eight-times daily from June 1. Aeroflot says its group airlines, as a result, will be operating up to 77 flights per week to Simferopol from Moscow, St.Petersburg, and Rostov-on-Don.

Interestingly, this will make SVO-SIP flight the second most frequently performed in Aeroflot.

This depends on the point of view. But please don't argue about it here. This is not a board for political affairs.

Frequency of flights does not depend on any point of view, and frequency is everything my post was about.
