Rossiya to acquire up to twenty SuperJets

Rossiya (FV, St. Petersburg) will replace some of its fleet of A319-100s with SSJ 100-95s parent firm, the Aeroflot Group, has revealed.

In an Investor's Day prospectus seen by ch-aviation, the Russian carrier group says it will place twenty SuperJets with Rossiya between 2016 and 2021 while at the same time retiring fifteen older A319s. One of the first jets to arrive will be RA-89037 (msn 95077), a new-build hull which is on lease from VEB-Leasing and which has yet to be delivered from Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (Ramenskoye).

The move is part of an Aeroflot Group policy to increase the proportion of Russian-manufactured aircraft operating across its four subsidiaries.

Rossiya to lease five more Boeing 777s

Rossiya Airlines, a part of Aeroflot Group, is adding five more 777-300ERs to its wide body fleet that already includes seven aircraft of the type. Earlier, Rossiya exploited aircraft from the fleet of the now-defunct Transaero, but the new ones were previously operated by Emirates and are leased from Irish lessor AerCap.

According to open sources all aircraft (s.n. 32706, 32709, 32715, 32730, 32710) are set for delivery were built between 2005 and 2006. The final decision on financing the transaction will be made at the Aeroflot’s board meeting, scheduled for October 17. The parent company’s board of directors is supposed to formulate its position regarding the deal and decide whether to provide guarantees for its subsidiary.

At the same time the board will review early phasing out of a less spacious Boeing 777-200ER, one of the two of the type, which Rossiya inherited from its sister company OrenAir after their merger.

Transaero to submit relaunch plan to creditors

Transaero Airlines (UN, Moscow Vnukovo) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alexander Burdin has reaffirmed the bankrupt carrier's plan to resume operations following board approval for the move.

Under the plan previously outlined in July this year, creditors, which are made up primarily of banks, will convert their debt into equity thus gaining effective control over the airline. Transaero's owners and founders, the Pleshakovs, will have no stake in the revitalized venture.

Speaking to Vedomosti, Burdin said the plan would now be put to creditors for approval.

He said the carrier has assets of between RUB3-5 billion, against court-recognized debt of RUB128 billion. In all, creditors have submitted claims for RUB251 billion rubles. However, while several firms have initiated bankruptcy proceedings against Transaero, the bulk of its creditors have preferred to see it resume operations given that in the event it is liquidated, they would likely only see a return of 3 kopecks on the ruble.

As such, the plan calls for Transaero 2.0 to complete its certification in time for an April 2017 launch. According to Burdin, Transaero may even partner an existing carrier to expedite the process.

Once operational, from bases at St. Petersburg in the north and Krasnodar and Adler/Sochi in the south, the airline will serve diverse Russian destinations for a period of two years before venturing abroad.

Flights will initially use a fleet of ten B737-800s and five SSJ 100-95s, all of which will be leased. These may then be followed by five more B737-800s, ten B737 MAX 8s, and possibly MS-21s.

If there will be a relaunch, it going to be all-new company with old name. As old Transaero is bankrupt, and the name is their best asset.
They plan to start with 10 Boeing 737-800 and 5 Sukhoi Superjet on domestic routes. According to Russian air traffic regulations new company can fly internationally only after 2 years of operation.
All 747s already joined the fleet of Rossiya.

Beside its home base at Dsseldorf Airport, where the fleet will also be maintained, Azur Air will operate from Berlin-Schnefeld and Munich. At first, Azur Air will receive three Boeing 767-300ER from sister company Azur Air from Russia. The fleet is planned to be enhanced by Boeing B737 and B757 later on while destination network will be expanded.[4] At the beginning, Azur Air will fly to Mediterranean destinations an the Caribbean for Anex Tour only.
