Very cool! I'm going to save the addresses for these places, and if/when I ever get to go to London, I want to visit as many as possible.

I don't know the name of this place, but it's a beergarden underneath the High Line on 30th Street in Manhattan. The coolest feature is that the bar is made of the same steel beams that the High Line was built with.

Plum Crazy, on Garnet Avenue in San Diego. Plum Crazy is a Philadelphia sports fan bar.

Favorite Parisian bars with interesting (and slightly "different") interiors:

Le bar 228

And for a truly more intimate feel, try The Bar, at L'Hotel -- Oscar Wilde's last Parisian residence turned chic Hotel. (Wilde's last unpaid bill hangs in his refurbished room.)

Beautiful pics!!!

I've shown this Inn before; but visited Niagara-on-the-Lake today and popped in for lunch. The Angel Inn has a good claim to being the oldest continuous pub in Canada, and one of the oldest in North America; thought to have first began around 1789, and rebuilding on the original foundation in 1815 after having been badly burned in the War of 1812.

I had a delicious Shepherd's Pie with a Yorkshire Pudding.

Nice pictures. I really want to visit the Angel Inn when I'm in Niagara-On-The-Lake next time. I'm surprised that there's no older tavern in Quebec or anywhere else in Canada; 1789 is not that old considering the history of settlement. As for one of the oldest in North America, I wonder how relative that distinction is. From my initial research, there are 14 taverns that have been in operation since before 1789. I am not sure if any places in Mexico would also beat out the Angel Inn. Again, though, I would think that some place in Quebec has been in operation since earlier in the 1700s.

From this thread it would seem the Taller, Better & xzmattzx both have drinking problems!

Can't wait to be back in Tdot sharing a Guiness TB!

The only drinking problem that I have is that I haven't been to most of the places in this thread!

The Playwright
Miami Beach, FL

The Irish pub is off of Ocean Drive and not a tourist attraction.
One of the interesting elements is that stained glass windows and hanging lamps from an old church are used as decoration.

In Prague there are pubs existing almost since middle-age, like U Fleku (from 1499).

The Grapes is older than that - and it's owned by Sir Ian McKellan (Gandalf) from Lord of the Rings -

All of these pubs, with the exception of Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, are Victorian. Although Cittie of Yorke does have an amazing interior. Pay Princess Louise a visit too -

This is an interesting site as well -

Pretty cool that there's a national inventory of pub interiors!
