Hm true boss.the situation here is quite complex.Too much of dirty politics, political parties-builders nexus and huge amount of black money coming into this sector are causes behind these delays of mega projects. If everything goes right then we have our so called environmentalists to grab the opportunity. So sad!!

Owing to uncertainty in the real estate sector, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), which presented a deficit of Rs1,760 crore for its FY13 budget, is not planning to lease its vacant plots in the prime Bandra-Kurla Complex area.
Nearly 20 hectare plots in the BKC are still lying vacant and the authority is awaiting a turnaround in the sector, so that it can obtain higher bids.

The authority has presented a Rs4,825 crore budget for FY13, with a deficit of Rs1,760 crore.

Judges no longer need prior nod to buy property

Judges no longer need prior nod to buy property
The Bombay High Court has allowed judges in the state to buy immovable properties without its prior sanction. The decision has come as a relief to judges as property rates used to shoot up by the time sanction was accorded.
Maharashtra State Judges’ Association (MSJA) president and additional sessions judge S P Tawde said prior sanction from HC was mandatory to buy immovable property like a flat or plot. “The process took months. By the time sanction was granted, rates of properties used to rise. Many a time, builders used to cancel bookings. We were facing problems in acquiring immovable properties,” he said in Pune ahead of the MSJA elections.
Judges will, however, have to declare their assets like other public servants and a mechanism is also in place to check whether the property bought is disproportionate to the judges’ income.
Tawde said this was a major achievement during his tenure as MSJA president. The MJSA elections are scheduled for March 25 at Alpabachat Bhavan where its members — there are 1,600 members in the state —would elect the president, vice-president, treasurer and seven members of the executive committee for a three-year term from April 2012 to March 2015.
The Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, Mohit Shah, will inaugurate the election process and Justice R C Chavan would be the guest of honour.
Tawde said, “The MSJA also has a medical welfare fund and every judge contributes Rs 1,200 annually. Judicial officers avail themselves of this fund during medical emergencies. The amount is released almost within an hour.”
He said judges of taluk courts face problems like loadshedding, lack of residential quarters and toilet blocks, besides staff crunch.

Maharashtra Govt promises inquiry against builder

Maharashtra Government today promised an inquiry into allegations against city-based Akruti Developers in connection with a project in the neighbouring Thane.
“I assure the House that I and the secretary of Urban Development Department will look into the irregularities that have come to light in Thane,” Minister of State for Urban Development, Bhaskar Jadhav, said in the Legislative Council.
MLC Jaiprakash Chhajed had raised the issue alleging that Akruti acquired some land in Thane for setting up an IT park, but came up with a rental housing scheme instead.
Jadhav said in reply during the question hour today that the land was given for commercial purposes, but the builder later sought approval to develop it under the rental housing scheme.
“During the Construction, it was found that the builder had exceeded the number of floors that were permitted, and was fined for this irregularity,” he said.
Deputy Chairperson Vasant Davkhare, who is from Thane, lamented that illegal buildings had mushroomed in Thane, and gone unnoticed.
