^Shouldn't take long, especially since they are already in Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Russia, Hungary, Romania, Poland and Turkey.

Hell, we even have Starbucks here in Canada.

In Turkey, there are more than 130 sturbucks coffee shops and I don't think even a single one has a special design, they just look like other regular cafes. Just more wooden work inside.

hmmm they say they are in india... or will be in a few months

Starbucks joins Tata for India foray

By James Fontanella-Khan in Mumbai and Jonathan Birchall in New York
Published: January 13 2011 18:21 | Last updated: January 13 2011 18:21

Starbucks is to enter India – home of some the world’s greatest teas – through an alliance with Tata, the Indian conglomerate, that could see the US-based coffee retailer open its first branded coffee shop in the country within six months.

The two sides said they had signed a memorandum of understanding to explore retail opportunities, after Starbucks signed a sourcing and processing deal with Tata Coffee, India’s biggest coffee grower.

R K Krishnakumar, chairman of Tata Coffee, said he expected stores to open rapidly. “They have a very aggressive strategy, and within six months you should be able to have a Starbucks coffee in Mumbai that will be exactly like the one you would have in New York or Paris,” he said.

Starbucks coffee is crap - it's so inconsistent I stopped buying there. I buy coffee from McDonalds, much better and half the price. I also caught the girl at my local Starbucks stealing money from the cash register. Starbucks is all about packaging.

But for what it is necessary to you? It's just a brand, for which costs nothing.

I rarely go to Starbucks as I find the roast of their coffee too strong, and I find all the Venti/Law-Tay Grawn-Day stuff incredibly pretentious... but they do pick some pretty locations. One I saw last night here in Little Italy:

Could this be the world's tiniest Starbucks?

If I remember correctly, in some of the ones in England, you don't really get much of a selection of coffees. In Mexico, I usually wind up going to one if I can find it, as they are pretty much the only place to get cream for the brewed coffee, and I like it that way!

Yes. 785 of the rascals. They came to Canada via Vancouver, and I think they are still more popular than the rest of Canada. I prefer Timothy's , myself, or The Second Cup
which are both chains started here locally.

I love how this subject brings out the coffee purists who fall over themselves to declare how much they hate it.

Of course I have no horse in this race as I don't even drink coffee.

I would never consider myself to be a coffee purist ( I don't like espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, etc...), but a person doesn't require any specialized knowledge to be able to say whether like how a roast of coffee tastes, do they? I think it is quite similar as people saying whether they like a McDonald's hamburger, or not.. you don't have to be a Chef to make up your mind on something as basic as that.
