Looks nice. Anybody here been to both Freiburg and Basel? Which city's better?

Well, I can't really say which city I like better, Basel or Freiburg. I think the Münster is definitely more beautiful in Freiburg. But Basel has the Rhine! What I was also wondering about Basel is that you have the impression that it is a really huge city, although it has "only" 170,000 inhabitants. Heidelberg has also only about 140,000 and it appears much smaller than Basel.
If Freiburg had not been totally destroyed during WWII, I would prefer Freiburg. Basel has also many ugly postwar buildings even it wasn't bombed. However Basel is a really beautiful city with many historic buildings!
