This design look good, but I wish it wouldn't get built that close to Petronas towers cause it would completely dwarf them...

This is the render for the project below - KLCC East Gate Tower, just a mere walking distance from Petronas:

They'll be a time when PTT couldn't able to dominate the KL skyline any longer. However, the twin tower is always be an iconic. Same as ESB/ chrysler to New York skyline.

Imagine a snowman, in the middle of the Nevada desert, in July. The chance of this tower being complete by 2020 is about the same as the chance of that snowman making it across the border to Mexico under its own locomotion.

LOL....

On similar note, yes, it is very unlikely the timeline can be met.

Malaysia is a small economy. Its entire GDP is smaller than some Chinese major city, and KL can't afford to have several vanity project at once.

Right now, state fund (indirectly) being used to construct the Merdeka PNB 118 Tower, and also the KL Exchange 106 Tower, and several new CBDs is currently being built within the KL City area. Office space glut is expected within the next few years, and as much as we Malaysian want to believe, KL is not a global financial and business hub, at least not in the same breath as HK, NYC, etc. Its mind boggling who will occupy these millions of sq feet of new spaces that will come online in the next few years....

just to give some hindsight.. Out of 118 floors of PNB118 or only 20 floors will be let. The rest are for Pnb owned subsidiaries, 6 star hotels will be located on several floors and also a retail mall.

For trx exchange (106 exchange tower) , if my memory remembers it right, 50% have been allocated already.
Same with damansara pavilion, another major project. A few of office blocks have been sold wholesale.

The office glut is real but KL lacks A grade offices. If gdp growth keeps accelerating, hopefully the supply < demand.

For reference KLCC that consists of the twin towers, tower 3 ,dayabumi and exxon mobil has a perfect 100% occupancy rate.

Why build taller? Why join the pissing contest? You may have the space and the ability to build a tall tower, but can the area support you?

Burj Khalifa is so tall (and big, when you take into account floor space and the number of floors, elevators, toilets) it has to be managed as a city on its own. And the worst part? There isn't a proper sewage system that can handle all the shit and piss it produces.

So sewage has to be trucked out every hour or so.

Why bother if this is what we get?

BK then sewage disposal problem has nothing to do with its height but due to the fact, Dubai once had no proper sewage system which is currently being straightened out.
Reports that Dubai doesn’t have a sewer system and that raw sewage has to be tucked to treatment plants were once true, but the issue was resolved by 2013
It wouldn't have made any difference then if there was a single very tall structure or two shorter ones, the city would still couldn't cope at that time.

Petronas two towers are comparable in terms of combined areas as Burj Khalifa but I am not aware of any problem with the sewage disposal system for the twins under present sewage processing capacity. Is KL's existing sewage and/or other basic infrastructures lagging behind the city's growth demands that future tall buildings should be curbed?
