Jekaterynburg looks surprisingly good, but it is not located in Europe ...

I think its 40 or 50 Kilometers east of the imaginary boarder, because on the worng side of the ural watershed. Tough decision, if it is the first asian or last european city. I think Jekaterynburg is still more connected in the western direction so I would call it, last european city.

To find out why there are so many short "boxes" in La Défense, you would basically need to know La Défense's history mate...when the parisian business district was born, almost none of the current european financial districts existed, not even a single foundation stone!

Most of those boxes date from the late 50's/early 60's. At the time, the height was very limited, so was the architectural approach...that's actually why many of them are being taken down or transformed, they're no longer in adequacy with nowadays's restrictions & requirements.

La Défense has the advantage of having a history (it used to be a slum...), and its diversified architecture is part of it. The new projects have obviously nothing to do with 'boxes', & now mark a true architectural evolution, times have changed...

Actually, La Défense doesn't have a single outstanding skyscraper but only shoe boxes.
Does it...? HERE

this exaggeration is more than ridiculous and laughable. The city of london financial district has been existed for many centuries and it is still the most powerful financial centre of the world. The city financial district trades more money than the entire euro zone does.

The UK capital is the most important financial center of the UK.

And that was it.

Hey SO, how much do you get for your advertising job here at SSC
and isn´t it boring posting the images of only one city in order to make a buck ?

I'm think you underestimate the London stock exchange.
Everyday they set the price for gold.

SO is so ridiculously pathetic, he's actually not doing London a favor at all as he's its worst ambassador possible.

I used to love London but his trolling is actually making me hate this city more & more...

SO please stop reporting posts which disagree with your viewpoint.

Though yes, London IS the world financial capital, there are other cities. It isn't the best of everything.
