Guys, please include a short description or instruction how to go there, or some links especially to the less-known waterfalls. The reason we have this thread it is because we want to go there!
Kanlaon Volcano, Negros Island (borders both Negros Occidental and Oriental)
2,495 meters above sea level

average climb duration 3 days 2 nights

best climbing season:
Dry season: April-May (peak at holy week)
Monsoon Season: October-December (peak October)
note: most of fatalities on climbing Kanlaon Volcano were during monsoon season due to its thick fog, temperatures as low as 6 degrees celsius, steep and slippery cliffs and ravines and flashfloods along dry riverbeds (former pyroclastic flow and lahar gullies)
Warning: as an active volcano with 26 recorded eruptions (1996 killed 3 climbers); latest activity 2010 phreatic explosions; a 4-kilometer permanent danger-zone prevails due to the volcano's unpredictable explosive nature. the volcano is also the central feature of the Kanlaon National Park, a protected wildlife area of Negros.

only a group of 9-12 people are allowed with 3 groups at a time within the Kanlaon National Park.
A guide is required per group at Php 500.00/day
each climber should register at the Provincial Admin Center-Mount Kanlaon National Park Admin Php 320 (220 for students)
should be physically fit and able. LPG and butane stoves are preferred since use of forest wood is not allowed.

Trails:

Guintubdan Trail at Sitio Guintubdan, Brgy Ara-al, La Carlota City, Neg.Occ
(considered a must for starters)

Wasay Trail near Mambukal Mountain Resort, Brgy Minoyan, Murcia, Neg.Occ.
(average to difficult but more challenging)

Mananawin Trail at Brgy Mananawin, Canlaon City, Negros Oriental
(average)

Tinuy-an Falls
Bislig, Surigao del Sur

Tinuy-an Falls is a waterfall in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao.
Its magnificent cascades are found in Borboanan, Bislig City, a one hour ride from Mangagoy, center of trade and commerce in Bislig City. About 55 meters high and a breathtaking width of 95 meters, it is said to be the widest in the country. Centuries old amazing giant trees, ferns and vines in a thick rainforest envelop your ride through thick forested hills that enclose the falls. Islets are on the swimming ground, with slippery logs where you can cross for a good view, plus multi-layered stones as pathways. Every morning, the area is blessed with a sprinkle of a rainbow that appears between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Enchanted River
Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur

This little known town is blessed with a hidden treasure --a stunning blue river nestled within a mountainside and protectively covered by a forest. Its dark tinge comes from the Pacific sea pouring in from a deep underwater crevice. To local folks, it is said to be enchanted. Full of rich marine fishes swimming in the deep blue, no one is said to have ever caught one. Once you take a dip in the cool, clear waters, you don't want to come out.

Hinatuan can be reached by land from Davao in an estimated 7 hours, or via Bislig City in less than 2 hours.

maybe tinuy-an falls could also be tapped for clean Renewable Energy power source in Mindanao para di na kailangang magpatayo pa ng coal plant

What the locals call "Embudo." This is a funnel-like part of Kangpongkol although medyo malayo ito sa falls. Sa medyo itaas pa ito ng falls. Malakas ang bagsak ng tubig dito.

Maganda ang Kangpongkol Falls kung pag-uusapan ang itsura. But I wouldn't recommend it to my friends yet. Talagang delikado ang daan. Konting miscalculation lang ng driver mabubuwal kayo at babagsak sa mga bato. I will have to wait na ma-semento nang maayos ang kalsada doon before I tell my friends to visit it. And I hope magawa ang road doon soon. Ang magiging tagos daw ng road na yun ay Lope de Vega.
