I think is far away from friendship issue, but the basis is on the fact, Budapest is the origin/destination of the European road.

Polak, Węgier — dwa bratanki,
i do szabli, i do szklanki,
oba zuchy, oba żwawi,
niech im Pan Bóg błogosławi.

Lengyel, magyar — két jó barát,
együtt harcol s issza borát.

Pole and Hungarian cousins be,
good for fight and good for party.
Both are valiant, both are lively,
Upon them may God's blessings be.

or

Pole and Hungarian — two good friends,
joint fight and drinking are their ends.

============

I've recently met a Hungarian lorry driver, who couldn't find his destination. Only "foreign" words he was able to say were "Magyar s.o.s." and a name of acompany he was trying to find. I helped him to find the place and said pointing my finger in my heart, I am "lengyel". He almost started to kiss my hands

Technically, it's the ferry to Puttgarden that is signposted (the village of Puttgarden is almost 30 km from here).

That's interesting, since the Rødbyhavn that is 8 km away also refers to the ferry terminal and nothing but the ferry terminal. The motorway ends directly at the gates of the terminal, and driving to the end of the motorway indicates that you are going to take the ferry (not doing so may involve some hassle).

Rødbyhavn is also the name of the village in which the terminal is located; the village has its own exit ramp and that's what the "7" refers to. This ramp is also supposed to be used by those who bring passengers to the ferry but do not take the ferry themselves.

There's also a town called Rødby, which is what the photographer has just passed here. Havn means harbour.

In a Spanish thread this French sign has been posted. It could be posted in Language issues too...

where....

- Ainhoa is a French village close to the border
- N-121B is the road that you will take after the border in Spain (written in French)
- Pamplona/Iruña is Pampelune in Spanish and Basque (and obviously it is the same direction than "Spain" which border is just one km ahead)
- Urdax-Urdazubi is the name of a little village in Spain, written in Spanish and Basque

and... the names of Dantxiaria / Dantxarinea, two villages in France and Spain, face to face in the border where the road cross, don't appear

Besides: it is a Spanish urban sign model (same typography and format you find on signs in Spanish cities) but on a French rural road... quite... interesting.

There's still a way out at the check in plaza...

Ascain (Southwestern France) in Bollendorf, Germany, signed via Luxemburg.
Bollendorf-Pont in Luxembourg (100 metres away from here) is pretty much closer but hardly readable

Are those seriously photos from 2008 with a digital camera? I surely thought they were scanned analog photos...

no,all analog(minolta dynax 300si).i buyed my first digital cam. in early 2009.i would make new pictures, maybe it was just a mistake in the process it self, but i dont know where the negatives are and that is too bad cause i have some very nice pictures from a few walking tours in the dolimiti region, the kalser glocknerstrasse,tröpolach, bayerischer und böhmischer wald and so on
