I disagree with bollards and here's why:

you shouldn't drive into prohobited areas, yes. just like you shouldn't park in handycap places or run a red light.
BUT let's say you genuinly did't notice the sign or something, so you are not intentionally breaking the rules, isn't it a bit rough punisment to get your car destroyed? do you get your car destroyed for parking illegaly? no you pay a fine. even if you did it intentionally.

not to mention i saw bollards staying down for 20-30 seconds after a bus had passed, it looked just like a normal street with a small no entry sign half covered by trees.
